Harlow Cricket Club was originally formed in 1774 and has been in existence in some form or another in and around the town of Old Harlow since then to the current day.
The Club is open to anybody, irrespective of age, gender, disability, race, ethnic origin, creed, colour, social status or sexual orientation and aims to offer an open and friendly atmosphere for people to enjoy
The Club endeavours to play good quality senior cricket on Saturdays and fields four teams in the Shepherd Neame Essex League which is the premier league in the County. The Club also plays friendly senior matches on Sundays.

Harlow CC is one of the major amateur centres for sport activities for young people in Harlow and the Club runs a vibrant Colts Section, where one of the aims is to train and develop young people to play in the senior teams, should they desire to, as soon as they are able. The Club places great emphasis on allowing young people to enjoy an activity that is both challenging and rewarding, whilst instilling the need for hard work, teamwork, patience and good sportsmanship.
The Club is recognised by both the ECB and ECCB as a Focus Club to work within the ECB and County programmes to deliver and promote cricket. The Club has held Sport England Clubmark accreditation since 2003 in furtherance of this work.
In 2010 the Club will field four Colts XIs at under 10, 11, 13, and 15 level on a Sunday morning in the WEDCB League plus an under 16 side in the Essex Matchplay competition. In addition numerous friendly and training matches are played throughout the season whenever pitches are available.
The Club hires sufficient indoor training facilities in the winter in order to offer its young people coaching facilities for the entire year using ECB qualified coaches.
Harlow CC also looks to be part of and to support the local community whenever it can. It supports, council initiatives, local school events and outreach programmes. Six-a-side fun days are held and are open to teams from the general public and/or other sports clubs. Burnt Mill & Nettleswell CC, another local cricket club, are invited to play their home matches at the Club's ground as they do not have their own ground.
The Club is actively trying to diversify away from being just a venue for sporting activities into a venue that is accessible to the wider non-sporting community. To this end the Club offers non-sporting membership, at a very much reduced fee and allows private lettings of the Clubhouse to the general public. Several local community groups hold their meetings and events in the Clubhouse throughout the year.
Harlow Cricket Club is very pleased and grateful to be a part of the Jack Petchey Foundation's Award Scheme. Both the Club and its young members are admirably and generously supported by the Foundation which has helped immeasurably in improving what the Club can offer to the young people of Harlow.
