PRESENTING OUR 'FEATURED' WEBSITE OF THE WEEK

Harlow Hawks Basketball Club is based at Harlow Sportcentre and runs a number of sessions which cover people of different abilities.

The club has come a long way since it was formally setup 10 years ago by Shab Niaz with the initial team starting with about 12 players. The club now runs 2 senior Mens teams and junior teams in the U11, U14 and U17 age groups. 

The junior section of the club caters for players from the age of 5-17 (school years 1-12) and the senior teams compete in the Herts County League Div 1 and 2. The 1^st team also compete in the National Founders Cup competition. 

Want to have a go at playing basketball, or have played before but want to do it for fun then the following is for you:

Last year (Sept 2008), the club expanded the sessions that it ran to include an adult social session, which was aimed at people that just wanted to have a go at playing basketball without the competitive drills and commitment that comes with playing for a team setup. Slowly this has become successful with good numbers attending regularly, some of whom had never played before or for fitness as the session is just games.
